What is the European Solidarity Corps?

The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is the EU's flagship program for young volunteers. It provides young people aged 18–30 with the opportunity to volunteer full-time in another European country for up to 12 months — with all costs covered by the EU.

ESC volunteers work with host organisations on projects that benefit communities — from environmental conservation and social inclusion to cultural heritage and digital literacy.

What ESC covers:

  • Travel to and from the host country
  • Accommodation and meals
  • Monthly pocket money allowance
